Welcome! to the 2016-2017 school year.  I am looking forward to having your student in my class.  Please know that 8th grade can be a challenging yet exciting time for your son/daughter.  Your child’s success in math and in school is a team effort, with us working together.  I know we can make this year a fun and productive one. If you have any questions and/or concerns about your child’s performance in my class, please call me @ 632-4739 ext 2303 or send me E-mail.  I hope we all find this year to be successful and rewarding!  

Math 8

We will be learning about number systems, geometry, probability and discrete math in addition to logic and problem solving skills.  

Honors Math 8

This course will cover the high school standards for Algebra I. The major topics include: graphs, equations, inequalities, functions, sequences, systems of equations/inequalities, data analysis, polynomials, quadratics, and real number systems. 

 

About Me

I come to Arizona via Michigan, Indiana, Oklahoma, and Kentucky.  I earned my BS from Oklahoma State University - GO POKES in 1986 and my post-baccalaureate in Secondary Education from Rio Salado in 2005.  I have been married 25 years - Kevin.  I have two wonderful kiddos - Chris - who will be attending ASU’s Law School this fall (GHS 2012) and Ali  - who will be attending University of Louisville for Physics/Chemistry (GHS 2016). Have a 6 year old Min pin named Cookie and a 2 year old Yorkie/Bichon mix named Chewbacca “Chewie".  When I am not teaching, I enjoy watching soccer, football, baking and reading..
